Zambia – National Water Supply and Sanitation Council (NWASCO)

The National Water and Sanitation Council of Zambia was enacted through the National Water Supply and Sanitation Act No. 28 of 1997.

NWASCO is the regulator for the 11 Zambian water utilities and provides these 11 utilities with an operation licence and a periodically adjusted tariff. NWASCO stimulates performance improvement and conducts an annual performance benchmark (including inspections). Networking and knowledge sharing is further stimulated through the annual ZAWAFE conference.
