Southern Water and Sanitation company (SWSC) was formed under the Water sector reform programme through and Act of Parliament, the National Water Supply and Sanitation Act No. 28 of 1997.
SWSCis a private limited company incorporated under the Companies Act Cap 388 of the Laws of Zambia.It is regulated by National Water Supply and Sanitation Council (NWASCO), the water sector regulator.
SWSC is mandated and licensed to provide water and sewerage services in the province on behalf of the 13 Local Authorities who are the Shareholders.
In total, the Company covers 19 urban and peri-urban centres in the Southern Province of Zambia. These centres, are spread over an area of 85,000 square kilometres.
